Dominique Hudson

Biography

After 15 years of hopping from bar to bar with his guitar as his sole companion, we can say that Dominique never stopped following the path to his dream. This long and well travelled road that he has rolled down has allowed him to master an unbelievable finesse in his interaction with the public.

If we go back in time, we find a young man who first laid hands on a guitar at 15 years of age and who wrote his first love song on the same chords of his favourite song. It is four years later, at the age of 19, that he makes his first appearance on the Quebec stage, alone with only his guitar as guidance. After a few demos and 6 years of touring bars all across the province, he decided to make a change in scenery and leave Quebec to work on a cruise ship for a year where he entertained the public from all over the world.

Upon his return, he produced his first album under an independent label. Since then, he has had many professional encounters which have led him to seduce the team behind Isba Music, the team that offered him his first recording contract. It’s in 2006 that, together with Daniel Volj and Martin Bachand, he sets foot in the studio for his first professional album. Francis Roques-Fargues, Isabelle Villeneuve, Martin and André Courcy, Christian Riopel, Manuel Tadros and Hervé Desbois all join him in writing some of the material for this  album.

In April and May 2008, Dominique embarks on the audition process for the musical, “Sheherazade, one thousand and one nights” (Sherazade, les mille et une nuits) by Felix Gray, and after more than a month of auditions he is entrusted with the role of Aladdin. With this new role, comes the chance to work with Yves Desgagné, to sing the words of Felix Gray and to record an album produced by Guy St-Onges. Moreover, he performs the song “Jasmina” and the beautiful duo, “Les parfums de ta peau” with Caroline Marcoux on the show’s musical soundtrack.

It is in between presentations of “Sherazade” that Dominique delivers his self-titled new album.  Since the launch of the album on September 29th 2009, Dominique is proud to share his universe and state of mind with the rest of the world.
